The Low Down
EDITORS TIPS
Save Money: Monument Access Passes are available free-of-charge with your purchase of a ferry ticket. It is recommended that you arrive at Battery Park two hours before your scheduled time slot.
The Extras: Your ferry trip will also include a stop at Ellis Island. Here, you can get the first-hand history of how America became the melting pot.
Know Before You Go: Security is very tight. You will be screened like at the airport before boarding the ferry. If you plan to enter the monument, you will be screened again on Liberty Island.
