EDITORS TIPS
Parking: Enter via the alley behind the bar, where there's plenty of free parking in a lot across the alley. It fills up, so arrive before 10pm Friday-Saturday, before 4pm Sunday.
The Extras: Check out the bar's sibling restaurant, Tweet, a homey nook next door.
When to Go: This is the place to be on Sunday at 4pm, when owner Michelle Fire serves free food. Burgers, brats and dogs in summer; fried chicken and pizza during colder months.
Know Before You Go: Big Chicks went smoke-free as of Jan. 16, 2006, two years before the official smoking ban for Chicago bars.
